Day 1
Arrived in Tokyo at 2.00pm which is 1.00+pm in Singapore. Took the airport bus to Shinjuku, which is like Tokyo's Orchard Road. At Shinjuku, my sister met her friend before we head to accomodation at Aiko-Ichida or something similar. It is 爱甲石田 in Chinese. We took the their MRT to Aiko-Ichida and that took us an hour and a half. After putting down our luggage, we had a delicious BBQ dinner which by the way is very cheap at S$30/ person for lots of meat and vegetable.
Checked out of the hotel and dragged all our luggage along to the Hakone Ropeway again. This time, however, we took it all the way to Lake Ashi. At Lake Ashi, according to my sister, if we were lucky, we might be able to catch a glimpse of Mount Fuji. But, sadly, we didn't get a chance to see it cause it was a super cloudy day with temperature as low as 15 degree celsius. Walked to the shrine at the other side of Lake Ashi. Along the way, we had sausages. After we visited the shrine, we took the bus back to Odawara.
Day 5
We left for Kyoto on the bullet train. Slept all the way for three hours. Took the train to the hotel but found out that we alighted at the wrong station. In the end we had to walk all the way to the hotel. Settled down before heading to see the golden temple. It was so beautiful because part of it is made from real gold. Next we walked around somewhere because we stumbled it by accident.
Day 6
We walked around Gion where geishas work. However we didn't see any because it was morning. Next we went back to the hotel and get our luggages. We were literally running for the train. We were running here and there just to get to our train. Luckily, we made it with minutes to spare. Slept soundly until...my sister woke us up again. But this time, it was for a good cause because we saw Mount Fuji! We were real lucky to be able to see Mount Fuji. It is very nice because it was semi-snow capped and there were clouds just below the peak. When we reached Tokyo, it was raining and windy. It felt like it was winter time because the temperature lowered to 12-14 degree. It was so cooling!
Day 7
Our last and final day in Japan. The rain is still on with super strong and chilly wind blowing. We woke up at 4 am, hoping to see the fish market. We got there at 7am and see some really fresh fishes and creatures like live prawns, lobsters, fishes, huge tuna fish, sea urchins and really cheap and live abalones at 1000yen. After the tour, we had sashimi and sushi. It was starting to get really cold so we left and headed for Ginza. The shops in Ginza were not opened yet so we just had to walk around in the rain. Soon we had to head back and collect our luggages. Reached the airport and grabbed my last meal there. A burger. I would love to get back the ice-cream from Japan if possible. There's so much flavours, ranging from peach to green tea ( green tea~) to heart-warming chocolate and different fruit flavours. Anyway boarded the plane and head back for Singapore!
